De Laubenfels & Adema's previous (1998, Blumea 43(2): ) lectotype designation (as 'holotype') of Yarde's un-numbered collection at Kew was ineffective, because the material provided by Yarde represented provided two separate collections made at different times and are therefore not a single specimen. The specimen with barcode K001325145 at Kew was designated as lectotype by Khuraijam et al. (2018 , Phytotaxa 383 (1): 121–124).
Etymology: Honoring English Col. Richard Henry Beddome (1830–1911), former director of the Lal Bagh, or government gardens, in Bangalore, and forestry botanist in India who first discovered this species. [source]
