Accepted Species
First published in: Taxonomy 1(4): 345-349, figs. 2, 5-9. (2021).
Etymology: Honoring Héctor Gómez-Domínguez (M.Sc.), retired technician from the Eizi Matuda Herbarium in Chiapas, whose field explorations and specimen collections resulted in the discovery of several new cycad species from southern Mexico. [source]
Synonymy Notes: Martínez Domínguez et al. (in PhytoKeys 208: 78. 2022) placed this species under synonymy of C. subroseophylla without addressing the morphometric and qualitative differences between the two species laid out by Pérez-Farrera et al., 2021 (in Taxonomy 1: 345-359) or providing data to support their synonymization. This synonyimization is therefore rejected until convincing evidence is published to support this proposal
Distribution: Mexico (Veracruz)
IUCN Red List Conservation Status: Not Evaluated
