Collector and Number: Fielding 209

Type notes: Although the type specimen was collected in Oaxaca, Nicolalde-Morejón et al. (2024) only located populations they consider to be this species in Veracruz, northern Chiapas, and Tabasco, mentioning the following: "Although no record of Zamia with these morphological characters has been found in southeastern Oaxaca, it is possible that Z. lawsoniana occurs there as well, though this area has been affected by high rates of deforestation, mainly due to cattle ranching."

Synonymy Notes: Previously considered a synonym of Zamia loddigesii. Reinstated as an accepted species by Nicolalde-Morejón et al. (2024, Acta Botanica Mexicana 131: e2262; https://doi.org/10.21829/abm131.2024.2262)

Location Privacy Notice: This map is provided to show a rough estimate of the distribution of this species based on georeferenced localities on the WLoC database. The points may not be comprehensive of the species distribution and may contain errors. To protect the precise locations of populations of this highly threatened plant group, coordinates displayed on this map have been denatured to 0.1 degree precision (approximately 11 km accuracy). Map zoom levels are also limited for conservation purposes.
