The description of C. latifolia provided here, based on the geographic distribution (Xilitla and Tamazunchale) refers to species now described as Ceratozamia chamberlainii Mart.-Domínguez, Nic.-Mor. & D.W.Stev. Phytotaxa 317(1): 17-28. (2017) and/or Ceratozamia reesii Vovides, Pérez-Farr. & Gut.Ortega Phytotaxa 575(3): 241 (224-252; figs. 1b, 2, 3, 4d-f, map). (2022). In addition, the species treated in the same book as C. microstrobila, is now treated as a synonym of C. latifolia., so the description of former correctly applies to C. latifolia.
