This name is considered a Synonym of Cycas sphaerica Roxb.
Nomenclatural notes: Described from cultivated plants in Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden in Calcutta. Provenance unknown but reported as 'perhaps introduced from Andaman & Nicobar Islands'. Considered similar but distinct from Cycas rumphii Miq. in the protologue description. Sporophyll depicted in protologue is most similar to that of Cycas thouarsii (A.J. Lindstrom, pers. comm).
